Max Chen was an inventive high school science teacher, beloved for turning complex physics into hands-on learning. During an experiment which saw students building sustainable maglev transit models using repurposed magnets, a groundbreaking demonstration went wrong.

A prototype superconductor – housed in a flawed magnetic containment unit began overheating. As the stray magnetic fields became more powerful, Max rushed to salvage the melting prototype. When he reached for it, an explosion of magnetic energy surged through him, altering his very physiology.

Max awakened as Magnetrix, deeply connected to the world’s magnetic currents. He could sense the hidden flows beneath the earth, manipulate metallic objects from afar, and even generate dazzling auroras that shielded those nearby.
